A Special Day for Solidarity
On February 14, at 4 p.m., the Eduardo Latorre Complex will become the setting for an emotional celebration dedicated to blood donation. In this edition of the ‘Valentine’s Day’ program, promoted by the City Council, those who help save lives with their altruistic gesture will be recognized.
A Tribute to Anonymous Heroism
The day will include the inauguration of a commemorative plaque bearing the message: ‘My blood, your life.’ This tribute highlights the importance of solidarity, highlighting the fundamental role of donors as unsung heroes who, with each donation, bring hope and life to those in need.
A Role Model: Francisco del Amo
Among those in attendance, the presence of Francisco del Amo stands out, recognized as the largest blood donor in Europe and second worldwide. With more than 500 donations to his credit, this citizen of Burgos is an example of dedication and commitment to the cause, inspiring future donors to follow his path.
Educating in Solidarity: The ‘Valentine’s Blood’ Initiative
The ‘Valentine’s Blood’ project not only seeks to increase the donation rate, but also to foster a culture of solidarity among the younger generations. Schools such as José Arnauda and Sant Vicent de Paúl, among others, come together to organize activities that promote awareness of the importance of donation.
