Summer Festivals: An Opportunity for the Community
The small town of Alcosser de Planes is preparing for a vibrant celebration at the end of August, on the occasion of the festivities dedicated to Sant Gil, the Sant de la Pedra, and the Crist de la Pietat. This event is not only a way to pay tribute to local traditions, but also serves to bring the community together in moments of fun and camaraderie.
An Agenda Full of Activities
The festivities will begin on August 24 with a festive beer celebration and an exciting creilles omelette competition, organized by the village’s youth. This day marks the beginning of a series of events designed for all ages.
Fun for Everyone
The following day, the community will dress up for the extraordinary wreath, with a gymnasium for the little ones, followed by a special dinner for retirees, reaffirming the spirit of social cohesion that characterizes Alcosser.
Traditions that link generations
On Monday 26, a pediment championship will enliven the morning, while at night, the correfoxes in charge of the Colla de Demonis Correcaganeres de Terrateig will light up the streets, bringing a magical touch to the festivities. The day of the 27th will include a walk dedicated to women and a futsal match, before enjoying a theatrical show for all ages.
Gastronomy and Shows
On Wednesday 28, the famous paellas will be the central attraction of the day, followed by a water slide that promises fun for young and old. The night will conclude with a revetla entertained by a DJ, ensuring that the party continues until the wee hours.
Religious and Festive Celebrations
The days 30 and 31 August and 1 September will be the culminating moments of the festivities, with religious acts in honor of Sant Gil and the Christ of Piety. The community will gather for masses and processions, while enjoying nightly pageants, a cotos championship, and fun activities such as a chocolate party.
