A remarkable growth in interest in the language
The city of Alcoy has observed a significant increase in the participation of migrants in language learning programs, thanks to the initiative of the Pangea Office. This municipal service has become a fundamental pillar for reception and integration, facilitating access to local language and other essential resources to adapt to the new life.
A change in trend: from registration to certification
Between 2021 and 2024, the Pangea Office had organized two annual reception sessions, but the finalization statistics were worrying. Only a small number of registered ones managed to obtain the official certificate. However, in 2025 it has marked a significant change, with three scheduled schools and 76.67% approved in the first edition, with a total of 23 certified participants.

Aroa Mira, responsible for inclusive policies, has expressed its satisfaction: “2025 represents a year with many challenges, especially with the new reform of the foreign law. Alcoy is committed to fostering real integration and a united society, with a approach to diversity and equal opportunities.”
Increased demands: new registrations
The response of the citizens has been positive, with 52 people already pointed out for the May-June course and a forecast of 25 another for September-October. In addition, the number of registered language classes has increased, with 72 students from Spanish and 38 Valencian, as well as a pilot group to prepare the CCSE test.
Complementary Training: A Beyond Language
During 2025, several additional workshops are planned, such as first aid with the Red Cross, digital literacy with cyber -soluntarios, and emotional management with psychologists of social services. This integral approach helps to provide migrants with the tools needed for better adaptation.
