This situation of instability affects areas of Catalonia, the Valencian Community, eastern Castilla-La Mancha, southern Aragon and the Balearic Islands. The five communities are under warning from the AEMET for intense rains and storms. This alert includes orange level warnings in Aragon, the Balearic Islands and the Valencian Country, and yellow level warnings in Castilla-La Mancha and Catalonia.

Forecast of Storms

The storms are expected to be more intense in the north of the Valencian Community, in the south of Aragon, and in the east of Catalonia and Castilla-La Mancha, with the possibility that they will be strong and accompanied by hail. The main impacts are expected during the morning, and although the intensity of the storms will decrease in the afternoon, they will persist in some areas. In the Balearic Islands, the storms could intensify in the afternoon, also reaching locally strong intensity.

Other Affected Areas

In the north of Galicia, the Cantabrian side, the high Ebro and the western Pyrenees, mostly cloudy skies are expected with weak and scattered precipitation, which could intensify in the eastern Cantabrian. In the rest of the country, a calmer situation is expected with partly cloudy skies, with clouds developing in the afternoon that could leave some scattered showers in mountainous areas of the center and north. In the Canary Islands, cloudy intervals are expected in the north and partly cloudy skies in the south.

Variation of Temperatures

Temperatures will drop in the Balearic Islands, the eastern third of the peninsula and the eastern Cantabrian area, while they will rise in the rest of the country. The highest maximums could be found in Andalusia and Murcia, reaching 37 degrees. Minimums will drop in the Balearic Islands and the north-eastern half of the peninsula, and will increase in the south-west. In the Canary Islands, temperatures will remain unchanged.
