A vibrant August in Almudaina
The municipality of Almudaina is preparing for an August full of festive events, designed to entertain all members of the community. The festivities in honor of the Santíssimo Crist dels Socoros promise equal parts fun and tradition.
Activities for all tastes
The party will begin on Friday August 9 with the joy and decoration of the streets. Residents will be ready for two weeks full of activities that include competitions, food festivals and religious events.
Skills and fun
On Saturday, August 10, an exciting cotos championship will be held, while the following week, on August 17, a Gastronomic Fair will take place that promises local delicacies. Participants will be able to enjoy competitions such as throwing olive stones on Sunday 18, followed by a community dinner in the square.
Evolving traditions
According to Amparo Cortés, the party councilor, the tradition of who can be a party has changed over time. While previously only married people could participate, now anyone can join in the celebration.
Highlights of the festivities
On Monday 19 August, families will be able to enjoy a paella competition with live music. On Tuesday, the community will witness a Mariachi parade, which will bring an international touch to the festivities.

The youngest will have their special moment on Wednesday, August 21, with games, snacks and Dani Miquel’s performance, which promises to delight all attendees.
Culminating moments of the festivity
The 22nd and 23rd of August will be the most intense, with activities that include parades, costume parades and religious events in honor of Saint Bartholomew. The festivity will reach its peak on August 24 with the celebration dedicated to the Holy Christ of Help.
