Celebrating the connection between art and nature

From August 30 to September 1, Manresa is transformed into a scene of ephemeral art and environmental reflection with the Microscopies Festival. This event seeks to foster a deeper relationship with nature, inviting attendees to explore their surroundings through various artistic installations.

A critical look at the environment

According to the director of the festival, Roser Oduber, the aim is to promote a respectful approach towards the environment and raise awareness of the impact of human actions. Art is presented as a tool for reflection, transforming the experience of nature into an accessible and provocative format.

Outstanding works that inspire

What moves us?

The sculptor Mario Molins has created an emblematic piece that invites introspection. Using five stone blocks from Saint Vincent, the work represents a duality between the primordial essence of the earth and human impact, posing the question: What really moves us?

Ephemeral interventions

The festival is enriched with a selection of ephemeral works, such as ‘De pedres pans’ by Ton Armengol, which pays tribute to agricultural tradition, and ‘Ésser(s)’ by Pau Miralpeix, which uses local materials to connect with the natural landscape

Creation with local materials

Emma Flores, with ‘Natural drawing’, transforms fragments of nature into a dynamic drawing, while Montsita Rierola, through ‘Returning the earth to its place’, explores the cycle of matter with ceramics made from local clay.

International and local contributions

Artists from different parts of the world contribute their vision, such as Milagros Arias with ‘Línia d’aigua’, a work that highlights the problem of drought. At the same time, the intervention of Chiara Sgaramella and Míriam del Saz, ‘The waters we are’, examines the current state of water resources in Manresa.

Complementary activities for all

The festival is not only limited to visual art; also includes a poetry recital and signature jazz concert on August 31, as well as a dance performance that explores grief and human frailty. Each activity is designed to complement the artistic experience with an emotional and cultural dimension.

An invitation to reflection

With a rich and varied program, the Microscopies Festival presents itself as a unique opportunity to connect with nature, art and community. Its mission to raise awareness of the importance of caring for our environment resonates in every piece and activity, leaving a lasting impression on attendees.
