Commendable Tourist Performance

Andorra’s tourism sector has managed to achieve exceptional results during the 23/24 winter season.

Andorra la Vella – The end of the winter season 23/24 in Andorra has come with positive news, according to reports published by the Andorra Hotel Association. With an average occupancy of 70.91% and a total of 124 days of skiing, the tourism sector has shown remarkable resilience despite the present challenges.

Comparison with Previous Seasons

Compared to the previous season (22/23), which recorded an average occupancy of 72.07% and 136 days of skiing, a slight decrease in occupancy has been observed. This drop can possibly be attributed to the delay in snowfall and a shorter season.

Key Factors

Festive periods such as Christmas, Kings Day and Carnival, as well as weekends, have maintained high demand and occupancy, illustrating the flexibility of the sector to adapt to changes and find solutions to challenges.

However, a decrease in bookings has been detected after the festive periods, especially between La Puríssima and Christmas, and after the Kings until Carnival. The uncertainty generated by the lack of snow has had a negative impact on bookings, despite the resorts’ efforts to keep the slopes open in the best possible conditions.

Resilience of the Sector

Despite these difficulties, the tourism sector has demonstrated a remarkable capacity for adaptation and resilience, providing a satisfactory experience for visitors. In addition, the initiatives, events and promotional campaigns promoted by Andorra Tourism have contributed to maintaining its attractive position as a tourist destination during the winter season.
