The PSOE Menorca and More for Menorca ask for explanations
The PSOE Menorca and Més per Menorca have jointly submitted a request for the appearance of the president of the Insular Council of Menorca, Adolfo Vilafranca, for the next plenary in order for him to give the necessary explanations about the minor contract that was given irregularly to a position of trust of VOX. In addition, they also demand the dismissal of the Insular Director of Education, Culture and Heritage, Santiago Reurer, who knowingly authorized this recruitment.
Resignation of minor contract and pressure
Despite the fact that the person affected, Miquel Tutzó, had resigned from the minor contract due to its incompatibility with the occasional staff position, days after the complaint and warning by Més per Menorca of this fact, both groups regret that this decision has been motivated by the pressure that the situation has caused: “In fact, the fact that this illegal recruitment has taken place in the public administration cannot be ignored, a behavior that should never be tolerated or accepted”.
Demand for transparency and explanations
In this sense, from the PSOE and More consider it essential that the president of the Council make a public appearance to explain all the details of this recruitment and clarify the doubts that exist around it: “Menorcans deserve to know the reasons why it was carried out and what measures the institution is taking to prevent similar situations from happening again. It must be remembered that actions carried out behind the scenes of legality cannot have a place in institutions.”
Disclaimer and warning
Nevertheless, the political groups in the opposition reiterate the importance that Adolfo Vilafranca “assume, once and for all, his responsibility and offer, with transparency and clarity, a coherent and convincing response to the situation”. And they make a final warning: “if illegality is the PP’s way to buy VOX’s votes, they will never find PSOE Menorca and Més per Menorca on the road to consensus, which will continue to ensure compliance with the values of the transparency and democracy”.
