Arrest of a group specialized in violent robberies
The authorities have arrested at least six people between Figueres and Vilamalla for being part of a group dedicated to committing violent house robberies, posing as police officers. This group was characterized by entering homes where the existence of illicit substances was suspected, pretending to be police officers. In addition to the drugs, the detainees also took other valuables.
Police operative and searches
The Mossos d’Esquadra have carried out seven searches in homes in Figueres and Vilamalla, including one on Carrer Tarragona in Figueres. During this operation, a vehicle belonging to the arrested was confiscated and all those arrested were taken to the Figueres police station.
Collaboration between different units
The operation has had the participation of several units, including the General Police of Criminal Investigation, the Figueres Investigation Unit, the ARRO, the canine unit and public security forces. This joint investigation has been coordinated between the Girona DIC and the Figueres Investigation Unit.
