The Step to Glory

Atlético Paso closed its regular season with a resounding victory against Montijo, a team that was fighting to stay in the category. The match, played at the Emilio Macarro, was a clear reflection of the dominance of Paso, which from the first minute imposed its rhythm and knew how to take advantage of the opportunities that were presented to it.

A Deserved Triumph

The green and black team, led by Manolo Sanlúcar, took the field with a renewed eleven, giving opportunities to less common players and promising young players. Despite the changes, the team did not lose its essence and from the beginning controlled the game, preventing Montijo from having clear scoring options.

The first goal came in the 18th minute, when Sissokho took advantage of a hanging ball in the area to score with a header. Just six minutes later, Guti extended the lead with a shot from the edge of the area that slipped into the top corner. With the score at 2-0, El Paso went into the break with a clear advantage.

A Second Half Mastered

After the restart, Montijo came out with more impetus, but Paso knew how to control their attacks and prevent them from disturbing the goal defended by Roberto Gutiérrez. The Extremaduran team had a clear opportunity to close the gap, but the goalkeeper from La Palma was imperial in the one-on-one.

El Paso, for its part, knew how to take advantage of the spaces left by Montijo and had several opportunities to extend the lead. However, it was not until the end of the game when Rento Tahara was able to put the game away, but his shot went wide.

The Path to Ascent

With this victory, Atlético Paso qualifies for the first round of the playoff for promotion to Second Division B. Their rival will be one of the following teams: Pontevedra, Barakaldo, CE Europa or Yeclano Deportivo. The La Palma team faces this new stage with enthusiasm and confidence, knowing that it has the potential to achieve promotion.

El Paso has shown throughout the season that they are a competitive team and that they know how to play under pressure. Their victory against Montijo is a clear example of their ability to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. Now, the green-black team is preparing to face the playoff with the hope of continuing to make history and achieve promotion to a higher category.
