A new horizon for Barcelona culture
The Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (ICUB) has launched a unique call to recognize the best project to create a multi-platform channel that promotes the local cultural sector. This initiative not only aims to support the cultural industry, but also to attract new audiences and set innovative trends in the city and its metropolitan area.
Award of 200,000 euros for cultural initiatives
With an endowment of 200,000 euros, this prize is presented as a unique opportunity for entities, companies and associations dedicated to the creation and distribution of cultural content. The deadline for presenting proposals extends for two months, and is part of the Tourism Sustainability Plan promoted by the City Council, financed with Next Generation EU funds.
A channel for all: diversity and accessibility
The selected project must develop a free access channel that is presented in multiple formats and languages, including Catalan, Spanish and English. The aim is to spread and promote the cultural wealth that Barcelona offers, both in the public and private spheres, thus improving the geographical distribution of the cultural offer and facilitating the mobility of users in the metropolitan area.
Long-term commitment to culture
The winning project will have eight months for implementation, with a commitment to keep the channel operational for at least five years after its creation. This condition seeks to ensure the sustainability and continuity of cultural activities and their relevance to the community.
Key objectives of the award
The overall aims of the prize are varied and ambitious. The aim is to establish a solid link between the cultural offer and the public, both local and visiting, as well as foster an inclusive and dynamic cultural fabric in the metropolitan area. In addition, it aims to boost the growth of cultural companies and promote innovation in the provision of services.
Strategies for an accessible culture
Among the specific objectives, the need to coordinate efforts in the cultural and tourist sector stands out, promoting a unified communication that facilitates access to the cultural offer beyond the central tourist core. It will also seek to deconcentrate cultural activity, giving visibility to new spaces and proposals that will enrich the city’s cultural offer.
A look towards the cultural future of Barcelona
With this initiative, Barcelona not only seeks to improve its cultural offer, but also to position itself as a benchmark in the creation of innovative communication channels that integrate and promote cultural diversity. The award represents an opportunity for a more vibrant and accessible future for all citizens and visitors to the city.
