Encouraging roots in rural areas
The Government of the Generalitat has launched an aid program for the rehabilitation of privately owned homes in rural areas. The main objective of this program is to promote rooting in rural areas and, at the same time, to prevent rural and mountain depopulation.
Program scope and conditions
The aid is intended for privately owned homes located in municipalities with less than 500 inhabitants throughout Catalonia, excluding homes for tourism or second residence. Beneficiaries will receive a grant that will cover up to fifty percent of the rehabilitation budget.
Lines of action and aid conditions
The program establishes three lines of action for aid: support for the drafting of technical rehabilitation projects, promotion of energy efficiency and improvement works to meet the safety, habitability and functionality requirements of the homes.
