An innovative contest that unites generations
The city of Cambrils has become the core of a pioneering event, where the richness of Catalan poetry has been intertwined with the contemporary rhythms of urban music. Organized by Versembrant in collaboration with the Platform for the Language, this competition has been the result of an intensive work that seeks to revitalize the interest in Catalan among young people.
Prominent participation of local institutes
The contest, which took place in the Old Audiencia de Tarragona, has seen an unprecedented participation by the schools of Cambrils. In exciting competition, students have shown their talent and creativity, winning two of the four awards awarded.
Triumphs that reflect local talent
One of the most emotional moments was when the 4th ESO students of the Cardinal Vidal i Barraquer school were recognized with the Platform for the Language Award. Its adaptation of “La Marina Sta Morena” has captured the essence of Catalan poetry with a modern touch. At the same time, a group of students from the Shared Schooling Unit (UEC) won the second prize for its innovative version of “21 questions” of 50 hundred, which fused verses of poets such as Vicent Andrés Estellés.
Rewards promoting talent
The winners have received significant awards that not only recognize their efforts, but also open their doors to professional opportunities. Students from the Vidal i Barraquer College will have the opportunity to record their adaptation in a renowned study, as well as participate in the Litterarum Fair in Móra d’Ebre, where they will be able to present their creation.
A training that goes beyond music
In addition, all winners will be able to access advanced courses in music composition and production, an experience that will allow them to develop their artistic and professional skills in a creative environment.
The vision of education as a driver of change
The Councilor for Education, Natalia Pleguezuelos, has expressed his satisfaction with the success of this initiative, emphasizing how he has helped to arouse the interest of young people in Catalan culture. “This experience not only enhances local talent, but also promotes the use of the language in a modern and attractive context,” he said.
A bet on creativity and language
The Cambrils Education Plan has been central to the implementation of this project, with the aim of connecting adolescents with their cultural heritage through urban music, a genre that resonates with their daily experiences.
Through the adaptation of classic poems to popular songs, the workshop has allowed students to explore their creativity and express themselves in a way that resonates with their generations. This educational proposal not only promotes the learning of Catalan, but also creates a space for innovation and artistic expression.
