Catalonia: A call for civic and political renewal

by PREMIUM.CAT

Catalonia at a turning point

The current situation in Catalonia is a reflection of the multiple crises that have accumulated over the years. The voices of the citizens demand a clear and decisive response that overcomes the partisan dynamics that have dominated the political scene. According to the latest polls by the Center for Opinion Studies, distrust towards political elites has increased, with a widespread feeling that they only seek their own profit.

Strengthen community and common values

The moment demands a renewal of the civic fabric, with the aim of recovering the elements that unite us: a shared history, a collective vision of the future and a firm citizen commitment. We cannot accept that Catalonia, despite its high debt, is among the last in terms of healthcare. The question that needs to be asked is: where have the public resources gone?

Challenges in education and housing

Education is one of the fundamental pillars of society, and its situation is alarming. Public investment in this sector is equivalent to the Spanish average, but the results do not reflect this. On the other hand, the housing problem in Barcelona is becoming more and more urgent, with a lack of real solutions that have been promised for years without success. How many commitments have passed without being translated into effective actions?

Cultural identity in danger

Our identity and culture face significant threats. The increase in immigration and the decline in the use of Catalan, together with the disconnection with our roots, call into question the future of our cultural heritage. As the philosopher Charles Taylor points out, no society can thrive on the resources of its time alone; a solid foundation of shared values is needed.

Need for a change of values

We are at a key moment that calls for a profound moral regeneration. Loss of values and lack of integrity are at the heart of many of our current problems. It is essential that leaders emerge with courage and firm principles who are ready to face the challenges ahead.

Urgency of an own electoral law

The lack of an electoral law adapted to the needs of Catalonia is an issue that cannot be ignored. It is vital to empower citizens through a system that guarantees transparency and accountability of the rulers. Democracy must be a reflection of the popular will.

Participate in the change!

For all these reasons, we invite you to join the Civic Political Action Conference. This is a space designed to encourage dialogue and responsible action between citizens. The transformation of our reality begins with each of us. Your participation is key to improving the present and building a future that meets the needs of Catalonia!
