A unique event in the heart of the Pyrenees
This Sunday, May 25, Rice of Cardós will become the epicenter of nature and tradition with the celebration of the 12th edition of the Fair of the Natural Park of the Alt Pirineu. Organized by the Natural Park and the City Council of Esterri de Cardós, the fair promotes the richness of local products and emphasizes the importance of Aranese Auvella, a sheep breed with deep roots in the region of Pallars Sobirà.
A sample of craft and agri -food products
The fair is not only a market, but also a celebration of local crafts and gastronomy. Visitors will enjoy a varied offer that includes from exquisite cheeses to homemade jams, as well as wood craft and clothing objects. One of the outstanding attractions will be the Aranese Auvella show, which will include livestock exhibitions and a cholla contest, to highlight the value of wool in the local industry.
Various activities for the whole family
The program of the day will include a range of activities designed for all ages. The little ones will enjoy creative workshops, while the whole family will be able to participate in guided tours of the Rice Church, with a focus on their baroque design. Previous initiatives to the Fair
On Saturday, May 24, coinciding with the European Day of the Natural Parks, previous activities will be carried out that promote citizen participation. In the morning, the Foundation Foundation Forests will organize the “Fem Common”, where volunteers will work on the recovery of local meadows and carry out bioengineering actions in Ginestarre. In the afternoon, the community will be encouraged to participate in ‘Play Pallares Bowling’, in collaboration with the Cultural, Civic and Sports Association of the Valls de Cardós. The day will end with a popular astronomy activity, which invites you to explore the starry sky of the municipality.
A new project for conservation
During the fair, the new Association of Friends of the Alt Pirineu Natural Park will be inaugurated, which will seek to promote the conservation and valorization of the natural and cultural heritage of the region.
