A year full of parties and activities
The Penedès Hiking Center (CEP) is birthday. In 2023, it enthusiastically celebrates its 50 years of history, and for this it has designed a varied program of activities that includes from artistic exhibitions to sports challenges that seek to involve both members and the general public.
Activities for everyone
The opening of the program took place at the CEP headquarters in Vilafranca, where Núria Repiso, a member of the organizing team, shared his vision on the importance of participating in the community. ‘We hope that the celebration is inclusive and that everyone can enjoy the events,’ he said.
Sports challenges and competencies
Among the most prominent challenges is the Montmell Joncosa pot, which invites you to climb eight peaks in a single day or in stages, with the aim of completing it in the shortest possible time. In addition, the ’50 years ‘challenge, 50 summits’ will allow participants to climb 50 peaks in Catalonia and register their experiences.
Culture and art in the celebration
The vine is not only limited to sport, it also covers culture. An exhibition called ‘Illustrated Bowls’ has been organized, which will be launched on May 16 and will have the creativity of 40 artists. Each artist has been invited to create a work based on a bowl, a symbolic element that recalls the history of the CEP headquarters.
A meaningful institutional event
The highlight of the celebrations will be the institutional event scheduled for May 31, where he will pay tribute to the 13 presidents who have guided the entity since its founding. Mayor Francisco Romero will be present to recognize the contribution of these leaders to the CEP.
A diversified agenda
The celebration program also includes a Raid-Gimcana on October 12, designed to be a surprise experience for the participants. In addition, on November 29 there will be a special dinner for the members, and during the year talks and the traditional cycle of screenings, expanded for this year, will be organized.
With all these activities, the CEP seeks not only to celebrate its past, but also to inspire a new generation of hikers and nature lovers.
