Montaner’s decision

The councilor and president of the parliamentary group of Andorra Endavant, Carine Montaner, has announced her resignation from the housing working group in the General Council. Montaner leaves the working group due to the new Government measures that he hopes to approve soon. She considers that it is not necessary to participate in a body where the opinion of the different parliamentary groups is not taken into account, no information is sent to study the problem and she does not want to be a participant in these measures which, according to her, will generate legal uncertainty for investors foreigners

Reactions and concerns

The proposed law for sustainable growth and the right to housing has generated a lot of controversy, especially with regard to the taxed vignettes and the measure to obligatorily transfer empty flats to the Government to promote the housing market . This proposal has been criticized by real estate and property owners in the country, asking for a more detailed explanation of this measure in order to assess its potential impact.

Declaration of Andorra Forward

Andorra Endavant’s press release expresses its surprise at the Government’s new measures in relation to housing. They consider that the measures adopted may have negative repercussions, such as the creation of a climate of legal uncertainty and a negative impact on the real estate market.

Division in the General Council

The controversy and media conflict surrounding this issue has divided the General Council, with the social democratic group rejecting the new measures and accusing the Government of legislating hastily. This has generated a situation of tension and disagreement between the different parliamentary groups.

Growing tension

The tension in the General Council is evident, especially on an issue as crucial as housing, which had previously united the different parliamentary groups. Currently, DA’s parliamentary strength generates discontent among the opposition, who do not feel that they are taken into account in decision-making.

Different points of view

Finally, there is a clear division of opinion regarding this issue, with Concordia expressing its support for the project, while others consider that it comes too late and endangers the stability of the real estate market.
