From Friday 26 to Sunday 28 April
From Friday 26 to Sunday 28 April, CineBaix will organize the IV cycle of cinema Mai Més. This cycle will include two films and a documentary that will deal with issues related to memory, deportation and the prevention of fascism.
Screenings and film forums
Each screening of the cycle will be followed by a film forum in which invited people will participate. This opportunity will allow attendees to delve deeper into the topics covered and debate them.
Presentation of the Media.cat Yearbook
On Sunday, during the cycle, the presentation of the Mèdia.cat Yearbook will take place. This presentation will be given by the journalist Carme Verdoy, coordinator of the yearbook. The Anuari de Mèdia.cat is a publication that highlights independent and local journalism.

The Mai Més cycle is a joint initiative of CineBaix, the Democratic Memory Network of Baix Llobregat, the Regional Council of Baix Llobregat, the Amical de Mauthausen, the Mai Més Network, the Buchenwald Association, the Unit against Fascism and the racism (UCFR) and the Center for Regional Studies of Baix Llobregat.
Cycle programming
Friday 26: “Road to Gusen”
On Friday 26 at 18:30 the documentary “Road to Gusen” will be screened. This documentary tells the story of Àlex Cirera, a cyclist who cycled 2,000 km to honor the memory of his grandfather, a victim of fascism. After the screening, a film forum will be held with the participation of Àlex Cirera.
Saturday 27: “The area of interest”
On Saturday 27 at 18:30 the film “The area of interest” will be shown. This film is about the Holocaust and is based on the life of Rudolf Höss, a commandant of the Auschwitz concentration camp. After the screening, there will be a film forum on the memory of the Holocaust.
Sunday 29: “American History X” and presentation of the Anuari de Mèdia.cat
On Sunday the 29th, the film “American History X” will be shown and the Anuari de Mèdia.cat will be presented. This film is about xenophobic and racist attitudes and behaviour. After the screening, there will be a film forum on the prevention of fascism.
All sessions in the cycle are free and open to the public. It is a unique opportunity to delve into subjects such as memory, history, cinema, journalism and cycling.
