An Amazing Atlantic Front

Meteorologist Roberto Brasero has announced the imminent arrival of an atmospheric front that will not only bring rain, but will also cause a significant increase in temperatures in Spain. After a week marked by cold and stable weather, the changes have not taken long to be noticed.

Weather Transformation: From Frost to Heat

Brasero has confirmed that the frost that marked the early hours of Tuesday will dissipate from Wednesday, thanks to the entry of warm air from North Africa. This climatic transformation will occur in a remarkable way, with temperatures expected to exceed the usual values for this time of year.

Areas Affected by Rain

Galicia will be the first region to experience the new rains that will come from the aforementioned front. From Wednesday, these rains are expected to spread moderately to other areas of northwestern Spain, with a notable increase in temperatures that will be evident throughout the country.

Unusual temperatures in December

Forecasts indicate that maximums could reach extraordinarily high values for the month of December, with cities such as Malaga, Cordoba and San Sebastian marking 20 degrees, while Alicante could reach 21 degrees and Murcia even 24 degrees. However, this heat wave will be temporary, with a further decrease expected for Thursday.

A Different Cold on the Horizon

A radical change is expected on Friday with a drop in temperatures, accompanied by rain and snowfall. Brasero has warned that snow could fall at altitudes of up to 1,000 meters, although it is not expected to be as intense as the snowfall of a few days ago. The areas most affected by the precipitation will be the Cantabrian Sea, the Pyrenees and Galicia.

Expectations for the Week

As we approach the weekend, the weather outlook in Spain will continue to change, with a marked contrast between the unusual heat of Wednesday and the cold that will arrive on Friday. Rainfall will be lighter in many regions, except in the north, where it is expected to be more abundant.
