Status of the injured
A 30-year-old man from the Netherlands is admitted in a serious condition at Juaneda Hospitals due to head trauma. At the Son Espases public hospital, a 26-year-old woman is in a stable condition with severe chest trauma. Two other Dutch and a resident citizen are admitted to private centers, such as Juaneda and Grup Quirónsalud, with mild or moderate injuries, such as polycontusions and polytraumas, and are progressing favorably.
Hospital discharge
A 34-year-old German citizen, who was admitted to the Juaneda Clinic, has been discharged after voluntarily requesting it.
Cause of collapse
The collapse of the entertainment venue in Platja de Palma took place on Thursday night. The main hypothesis is that an excess load on the terrace of the first floor of the building caused the collapse of the structure. The age of the premises’ structure is also being investigated as a possible cause. It seems that, when the terrace collapsed, it hit a vault that also gave way.
Fatalities and number of injured
The collapse has caused the death of four people, including two German tourists, a worker from Navarre and a Senegalese man. In addition, sixteen people have been injured.
