The Interior Merchandise Platform has expressed its concern about the imminent activation of the third railway thread, which, as they claim, could significantly increase the current disorder in the railway system of the Tarragona region. The organization warns that this new phase of freight transport can lead to a collapse of the existing lines.
AMBICIOUS OBJECTIVES FOR 2030
The Administration seeks to raise the freight of freight carried by a current 4% rail to 10% within seven years. However, the platform experts fear that this accelerated traffic increase can saturate the coastline and have negative impact on travelers, as well as for public health and security.
