The Complaint of Manos Neteja
The general secretary of Manos Neteja, Miguel Bernad, has acknowledged that the complaint filed before a court in Madrid is based only on information published in media and supposedly journalistic portals. In a statement issued this Thursday, Bernad explains that, given the lack of ex officio action by the Prosecutor’s Office, they decided to bring this information to the attention of the court. In addition, he assures that if this information is not true, those responsible for its publication will have to assume the falsehood, but if they are true, the legal case will have to continue.
Reaction of the Spanish President
In the same statement, Bernad considers the reaction of the president of the Spanish government, Pedro Sánchez, ‘unacceptable’. In addition, he believes that Sánchez should give explanations about the truth of the facts instead of insulting his union for having exercised a constitutional right.
Denial of Participation in Campaigns
Bernad denies being part of any campaign against Sánchez and assures that his action does not contain any falsehood. He criticizes the Spanish president’s accusations about the ultra-right wing of Manos Neteja and his alleged participation in right-wing campaigns, stating that these accusations are false.
Response to Past Accusations
Bernad also denounces the accusations of the ‘pro-government press’, recalling his arrest and subsequent acquittal by the Supreme Court. He adds that the defamatory information against him is false and slanderous.
