Protest at ACCIÓ headquarters

A group of protesters belonging to the ‘Prou Complicitat amb Israel’ platform has taken over the headquarters of ACCIÓ, the agency in charge of business competitiveness by the Government, with the aim of demanding the closure of its office in Tel-Aviv. The protesters have entered the building located on Passeig de Gràcia and have urged more people to join the protest. Likewise, the coalition against the war in Gaza has urged the new government that emerged from Sunday’s elections to break relations with Israel. Protesters are scheduled to hold a press conference to denounce ACCIÓ’s alleged links to apartheid and Israeli colonialism.

Intervention of the authorities

The images shared by the protesters show the presence of the Mossos d’Esquadra at the protest site. Later, while the activists carried out a performance outside the building to denounce the ‘genocide’ in Israel, the police intervened forcefully to evict the protesters inside.

Student actions

In parallel, students from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) have blocked access to the Railways of the Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) on the university campus in support of the student strike in defense of Palestine. In addition, students from the University of Barcelona (UB) have joined the demand, camping in the historic building of the study center and blocking at least one of its side entrances with garbage containers.
