The Madrid president expresses her concern

Isabel Díaz Ayuso, leader of the Community of Madrid, has raised her voice against the situation that, according to her, Catalonia is experiencing, which she has described as ‘occupied’. In a recent statement, he warned about the implications of this situation for the rest of Spain, which he considers a ‘victim’ of this situation.

A call to socialist unity

Díaz Ayuso has not hesitated to urge the PSOE representatives to reconsider their actions. In the conversation with COPE, he asked ‘how long will they maintain this attitude’, underlining the need to prioritize the interests of Spanish citizens above all else.

Criticism of the government’s economic management

The Madrid president has expressed her fear that the central government will try to ‘bribe’ the socialist barons with promises of funding. ‘What money do you need?’, he questioned sarcastically, insinuating that wills are being bought with public money.

The agreement between ERC and PSOE: concerns and dangers

Díaz Ayuso has charged against the recent agreement between ERC and the PSOE for the election of Salvador Illa as president of the PSC, calling it ‘fiscal secession’ which, according to her, threatens the economic stability of Spain. He has warned that any return to episodes of political confrontation of the past could end up with ‘unlimited’ economic resources that will be paid for with the money of all Spaniards.

Aftermath of an extremely radical government

Ayuso has described the current government as ‘unlimited’, warning that if they continue like this, ‘there will be no right institution left’ and the separation of powers will be severely compromised. He added that the economy is suffering due to excessive public employment and a lack of investment projects.

Reflections on the future

Finally, the president has expressed her concern about how the damage caused can be repaired. He indicated that, despite the difficulties, there is hope on the horizon, since most of the autonomies are governed by the PP, known for its capacity for good governance.
