A morning marked by the trains stopping
Rodalies users have experienced a day of complications due to a strike driven by minority unions. The South R2 line has been the worst affected, with an incident in Sitges, which has forced the circulation of trains between Garraf and Vilanova i la Geltrú for about thirty minutes. This interruption, which began at 7:30 am, has caused a domino effect on the service.
Treats and annoyances for travelers
After the initial interruption, the trains have resumed their circulation through a single road at 8:00 am, but it was not until 8:30 h that the service has been restored in both ways. Despite the reestablishment, many travelers have experienced delays greater than 30 minutes, and complaints on social media have not been delayed. Some passengers have reported more than an hour, just to find full trains that could not be welcomed.
Additional incidents in the north R2
In the meantime, while the situation was resolved in the South R2, a new complication arose in the North R2. At Sant Celoni station, the trains have been diverted to Llinars del Vallès, causing more delays on the lines. This incident has been resolved at 9:30 pm, but not without causing discomfort to many travelers.
Strike of minority unions
The day of difficulties has not only been limited to technical incidents. The strike called by the CGT, SF-I and Alferro unions has led to the removal of various services, including a R4 train leaving Manresa and another from the R1 to Hospitalet de Llobregat. This has contributed to a complicated day for travelers who depended on these lines.
Impact on high -speed service
The problems have not only affected the conventional lines. There were also damage to high -speed services, with the removal of two AVE trains leaving Barcelona to Madrid, as well as a train that had to arrive from Madrid. In addition, the travelers who planned to travel to Lyon have encountered the cancellation of their morning train and the return.
Reflections on the situation
The combination of strikes and technical incidents highlights the need for a debate on the reliability of the public transport system. Travelers deserve efficient and comfortable service, and authorities should strive to improve travel conditions and reduce the impact of these situations on the future.
