A Vibrant Celebration in Plaça de Catalunya
Christmas 2024 in Barcelona is preparing to offer an exceptional edition of the Barcelona Christmas Festival, located in the heart of the city, in the iconic Plaça de Catalunya. This year, the event promises to be a real cultural extravaganza with a diversified program that will include music, theatre, dance and circus, with a total of 25 performances scheduled.
Festival Dates and Times
The festival will take place from December 20 to 30, 2024, with free access for all attendees. The activities will be divided into morning, afternoon and evening sessions, designed to be enjoyed with family or friends.
Detailed schedules
The schedules will be as follows: mornings from 11 am to 2 pm, with family shows; afternoons from 5 pm to 7 pm, focused on circus and dance; and evenings from 7 pm to 9 pm, with music and a great closing show at 8 pm.
A Program Full of Art and Creativity
The square will be transformed with a special decoration created by Carles Piera, with symbolic windows that represent the idea of home and openness to the world. During the mornings, families will be able to enjoy the show ‘Christmas Seasons’, which will explore the emotions of Christmas through short theatrical pieces.
Participating Artists and Companies
Among the featured artists, there will be international performances such as Luuk Brantjes and renowned Catalan companies such as Bucraá Circus and Circ Pistolet, which will offer interactive proposals for the public.
Music Nights and Impressive Shows
The evenings will be a special time with performances of groove music, electronic and jazz folk, as well as traditional songs. Artists such as Alidé Sans and Sergi Carbonell will contribute their stage magic, culminating in a spectacular daily closing that will include a circus and music ensemble.
Responsible Consumption Fair: A Space for Sustainability
In addition to the performances, Plaça de Catalunya will host a Responsible Consumption Fair from December 19 to 29, where visitors can find artisanal products, clothing, toys and sustainable gifts. This initiative promotes conscious consumption during the holidays.
