A Full Month of Actions for Youth
In February it is presented as an exceptional opportunity for the Youth of Reus, with a range of free activities designed to promote personal development and healthy fun. The Casal de Joves La Palma, in collaboration with the Young Office of the Baix Camp and various local organizations, has created an attractive program that covers from training workshops to sports events.
Objectives of the initiative
Daniel Marcos, Councilor for Youth, emphasizes that these initiatives are part of the Planet Reus program. The aim is to provide leisure spaces that promote health and fun, while working on the development of vital skills and social competencies for youth. Marcos emphasizes that it is essential to create safe and integrative environments for all young people.
Highlights of the month
Community collaboration
One of the activities that stands out is the working day ‘Cultivating Reus’, which will take place on February 11, 18 and 25. Participants will have the opportunity to contribute to the community garden located in the mouth of the mine, thus fostering a sense of community and sustainability.
Training and employment opportunities
On February 13, a workshop will be held dedicated to the creation of curricula and labor mobility in Europe. This session is aimed at young people who seek to expand their employment opportunities, learning to elaborate an effective CV for the European market.
Sport and inclusion
Also on February 13, ‘Everyone with petanque’ is organized, an inclusive activity that invites all young people to discover and enjoy this traditional sport in a friendly and dynamic atmosphere.
Activisme i debat
On February 26, a feminist banner workshop will be held, where young people will be able to prepare material for the 8M rally, while also discussing relevant issues on intersectional feminism.
Carnival Jove
At the end of the month, on February 28, the Johreusfest Carnaval will be held, a costume party aimed at young people born in 2009 and 2010, with music, awards and activities in a free space for alcohol and tobacco. Attendees will have to come in disguised to enjoy a night full of fun.
