A year of triumphs for Eduard Sola
After won several awards at prestigious festivals such as the Gaudí and Feroz Awards, Eduard Sola has gained new recognition with the Goya for best original script for his work ‘Casa en flames’, directed by Dani de la Ornen. Not only does this success emphasize its creativity, it also highlights its influence on the Spanish film scene.
A speech full of meaning
At the ceremony held at the Palacio de los Congresos de Granada, Sola received the prize from the hands of Aina Clotet and Diego San José. In his speech, he called for the importance of mothers in society, focusing on the figure of ‘Montse’, the protagonist of his film, performed by Emma Vilarasau.
Honor Les Supermares
Sol recalled the multiple responsibilities that mothers have taken over time, combining their professional lives with household chores. He emphasized that many of them have worked tirelessly without the recognition they deserve, and paid tribute to their strength and sacrifice.
A call to equality
The scriptwriter advocated a future where family responsibilities do not fall on the shoulders of mothers unequally. He made a new approach to parenting, claiming that society must provide the necessary conditions so that both parents and mothers can educate their children with dignity and freedom.
Recognition and future
This has been the first time that the Spanish Film Academy has recognized alone for his work, and the Goya symbolizes a year closing. His career, marked by talent and dedication, has helped to highlight the figure of the scriptwriter, often forgotten in the world of cinema.
Other nominations in the gala
The gala was also attended by Isaac Vila, director of photography of Montmeló, who was nominated for his work in ‘El 47’. Despite his brilliant career, Vila did not get the award, which was for Edu Grau for his excellent work in ‘The room of Alado’.
A promising future
With such a fruitful year, as alone as Vila will continue to work to bring their unique vision to Spanish cinema, and their passion for art will continue to inspire new generations of filmmakers.
