The IES Pare Vitoria de Alcoy has recently received the Carme Miquel Prize, an award that emphasizes its dedication to educational innovation with the project ‘Petit tools’. This recognition, granted by the Valencian Academy of Language, emphasizes the positive impact that creativity and technology may have on student learning.

The born of a tradition

The ‘Petit Tools’ project is the result of an initiative that arises from the magazine ‘Tools’, which has been publishing content for three decades. ESO first students have been the engine of this new adventure, which seeks to integrate learning with digital tools.

Through Microsoft tools, students have developed a digital magazine that fuses knowledge gained in various subjects. Gemma Pérez, the Deputy Director, emphasizes that they have created a ‘Dracula’ booktrailer and that they will soon produce a news program, using a chroma for recordings. The aim is to expand their technological skills beyond the usual use of the mobile phone.

Toni González, the director of the institute, emphasized the importance of projects like this to transform the way students perceive knowledge. In addition to the Carme Miquel Prize, IES Pare Vitoria has recently presented two projects at the Baldiri Awards, focused on the promotion of art, culture and language. This is an example of its continuous research of educational excellence.
