Pere Aragonès urges the PSOE to recognize the judicial war and corruption
The president of the Generalitat and ERC candidate for re-election, Pere Aragonès, has announced that the republicans will present a non-law proposal to Congress to urge the PSOE to recognize the judicial war and corruption. Aragonès criticizes that the PSOE talks about democratic regeneration, but does not practice it with its votes. With this initiative, ERC wants the PSOE to vote in favor of the measures to protect democracy and change its vote in relation to the measures it has blocked so far.
ERC’s proposal to combat corruption and State sewers
The non-law proposal presented by ERC to Congress aims to debate the fight against corruption and the State’s sewers. The Republican party urges the creation of an independent commission to investigate cases of judicial warfare in the State and the modification of several laws to guarantee transparency and good governance. In addition, it calls for the gag law to be repealed and legal, criminal and administrative measures to be taken to clean up the State’s sewers. ERC also emphasizes the importance of complying with the resolutions of international organizations to guarantee human, political and democratic rights.
Aragonese’s proposals for Catalonia
Pere Aragonès has not specified which party he is open to agreeing with after the elections, but he emphasizes that his goal is to work for the public. The ERC candidate emphasizes the importance of laying the foundations for a referendum on the independence of Catalonia, securing unique funding to put an end to the fiscal deficit, and strengthening the welfare state and the Catalan language. Aragonès criticizes the other candidates for focusing on the seats and not presenting concrete proposals to improve the situation in Catalonia.
ERC expects sufficient support for the investiture of Aragonès as president of the Generalitat
Pere Aragonès expresses his confidence in getting enough support to be invested as president of the Generalitat. Regarding the possibility of Pedro Sánchez continuing to govern to guarantee the implementation of the amnesty law, Aragonès emphasizes that ERC is not prepared to be a pawn in other political projects. The Republican party will maintain the agreements with the PSOE in Madrid as long as the previous agreements are fulfilled. Aragonès emphasizes that the agreements on Catalonia must be made in Catalonia and that it is the Catalan people who must decide.
