Orange voicemail: a free service
The operator Orange has confirmed that all its customers, both those with a contract and those with a payment card, can access the voicemail service without any additional charge. Many users wondered if this service was really free, and now they know.
How to turn voicemail on and off
From the moment a customer activates their line, voicemail is set up automatically. If you decide you don’t want to take advantage of this service, simply dial ##002# on your phone to deactivate it, a process that’s also completely free.
How to listen to messages
To listen to the messages left for you, you need to call 242 from your Orange mobile, and this call will not incur any costs if you are in Spain. Every time someone leaves you a message, you’ll receive a free SMS informing you of the phone number of the person who tried to contact you.
Initial configuration of the mailbox
The first call to 242 will allow you to set up your voicemail. Here you will decide the language and record a personalized message for the greeting. Check that the greeting is recognizable by the people who call you.
Voicemail benefits and features
Using voicemail offers you several important benefits. Not only does it ensure that contacts can leave you a message if you’re not available, it also notifies you on your mobile when you receive a new message. Likewise, if your line is switched off or out of coverage, you will still be able to receive missed call notifications.
Management and access to messages
Voicemail management is convenient, as you can do it both through the Mi Orange application and from the Customer Area on the web, or simply by calling 242.
Expiration of messages
Messages left in your voicemail remain available for 30 days. After this period, we will automatically delete the messages. The capacity of the mailbox is up to 30 new messages and 30 stored ones.
If you decide to turn off your voicemail before the expiration period ends, your messages will remain accessible until the end of the 30 days.
