A collective adventure in Altafulla
The desire to explore the unknown, of crossing seas and mountains, has always been a motor that drives human beings to leave their comfort zone. This weekend, Altafulla will host a unique meeting that celebrates this passion for travel, an event that already reaches its fourth edition, with the support of the Diputació de Tarragona.
A content -rich program
The Lord’s Oven will be the heart of this meeting, where experienced travelers from more than one hundred countries will share their experiences. Martín Garrido, President of the Travelers and Writers Association (AVE), emphasized that this year’s discussions will focus on the journey as a scientific and cultural phenomenon, covering from the prehistoric period to the exploration of the Americas.
Inauguration: A female perspective
The beginning of the meeting is part of a special conference entitled ‘Ser Dona is a heroic journey’, by Clara Estrems and Cristina Fernández. This session, scheduled for Friday morning, promises to offer a deep look at the role of women in the travel world.
Debates and conferences
Friday afternoon will be dedicated to a dynamic debate with travelers who have traveled the world, sharing stories and reflections on their experiences. On Saturday, the event will be transferred to the Museum of the Port of Tarragona, where three conferences will be held that will explore topics such as polar lands, oceans and aviation.
A journey through time
On Saturday afternoon, attendees will enjoy a historical examination, from travels in the original times to expeditions to the Holy Land, with presentations by Marina Mosquera and Antoni Riera Melis. In addition, the book ‘Siwa Drawings’ will be presented with the presence of its author, Jordi Esteva.

On Sunday he will culminate in the delivery of the Joaquim Gatell Prize, which recognizes the inheritance of one of the great travelers in Altafulla. The last edition was awarded to Tomás Alcoverro, a renowned journalist, in an emotional act that emphasizes the importance of travel experiences.
The importance of travel
