Discovering the Secrets of the Forests of Cantabria

The Bosques de Cantabria Cultural Association will begin its twenty-second season of field trips in spring, offering three interpretive itineraries open to the participation of any interested person. These itineraries aim to discover the secrets of different forest formations.

Dates and Routes

The season will begin on Saturday, April 6, traveling through one of the best preserved and adapted sections for transit: the Nansa river path, from Muñorodero to Camijanes, in a nod to the Lebaniego Holy Year that is about to end. The second departure will be on May 4, traveling through the Cabuérniga Valley, and the last departure will be on June 2, carrying out an interpretive itinerary in the El Regato Valley, in Baracaldo, Vizcaya, called ‘The paths of water’.

Characteristics of the Itineraries

These itineraries are relatively short and of little difficulty, with numerous stops to observe and comment on the different natural and heritage elements present in each area visited. They are affordable for most people interested in knowing and enjoying the Cantabrian forests, especially in spring, an ideal time to observe and understand many of the natural phenomena that mark the life cycles of the wild species that populate the forests and countryside.

Registration and Transportation

Anyone interested in expanding this information or signing up for any of the announced outings can contact the Bosques de Cantabria Cultural Association by calling: 942 60 51 69 or 609 668 673, or by email at info@bosquesdecantabria. org.
