A journey to Valencian traditions

With the arrival of September, Gaianes prepares for a vibrant celebration that recalls its cultural roots. The festivities, scheduled from August 30 to September 2, will be a true celebration of colors, music and traditions that connect the residents with their history.

Cultural Week: a festive prelude

Before the official start of the festivities, the municipality of El Comtat will celebrate its Cultural Week from August 24. The activities will begin with a festive parade that will fill the Plaza Mayor with music and joy, followed by the Night Dance, an emblematic moment that will culminate in a fraternity dinner among the attendees.

Activities for the little ones

The little ones won’t be left behind, with a storyteller scheduled for August 26, followed by fun bugs the following day. With the well-known ‘Perolet’ as the protagonist, children can enjoy a chocolate bar to complete their day of leisure.

The party starts with tradition

On August 28, residents will be able to enjoy the lantern parade, which this year incorporates the traditional song ‘El peixet se’n va a la mar’, thus revitalizing one of the town’s most beloved traditions. On Thursday, the square will become a stage for the ‘Game of the Valencian Goose’, an activity that will encourage the participation of all attendees.

Patron Festivals: a weekend of celebration

Friday, August 30 will mark the beginning of the patronal festivities with the day of La Vespra. The bells will ring to announce an offering to Our Lady of Light, which will give way to a discomobile night full of fun.

Saturday and Sunday: an explosion of culture and religion

Saturday 31 August will be the busiest day, with a program that will include religious events, a display of popular dances and a spectacular fireworks display. On Sunday, September 1, dedicated to Sant Francesc de Paula, a concert by the Mestre Orts Musical Society will be offered, among other activities.

Closing the festivities with a special touch

On September 2, the day of Santíssimo Crist de l’Empar, there will be a day full of activities, including a theater for children and a special lunch for women dressed in white. The evening procession and the recovery of the ‘cordà’ will be the culminating moments to close these festivities successfully.

Post-holiday activities for all

Finally, on the 6th and 7th of September, the celebrations will continue with a dinner for retirees and a costume parade that promises fun for all attendees.

An invitation to enjoy local culture

Councilor Gloria Sanjuan has encouraged everyone to participate in the festivities, emphasizing the importance of dances and pilgrimages. In the hope that visitors will enjoy the scheduled activities again, he calls on the community to join this celebration that promotes the cohesion and culture of the village.
