Guineueta’s neighbors fight against container cream

by PREMIUM.CAT

Alarming incidents in the neighborhood

The Guineueta district faces a wave of vandalisms, with recurrent burning containers. Complaints have proliferated on social media, with a special focus on Paseo de Valldaura, although other areas such as Canyelles and Turó de la Peira have not been exempt from these destructive events.

Voices of concern and demands for action

In a recent audience, the Guineueta Neighborhood Association expressed his concern about increasing these incidents, requesting the City Council to take effective measures to address the situation. Neighbors fear that insecurity will increase if nothing is done.

The City Council’s response

Xavier Marcé, councilor of the Nou Barris district, acknowledged the seriousness of the problem, noting that his resolution largely depends on the Guàrdia Urbana and the Mossos d’Esquadra. He reported that investigations are being carried out, but those responsible for these acts have not yet been identified.

An incident that goes beyond

One of the most worrying incidents involved an ambulance that was affected by the flames of a burnt container. This situation has raised the restlessness among the neighbors, who are now fearing the safety of vehicles and people near the containers.

Container relocation: A temporary solution?

Containers that were previously near the Guineueta head have been relocated, but the new location, near a parking lot and a block of flats, has generated additional concerns. Neighbors have stated that if these containers are attacked again, the consequences could be devastating.

Long -term replacement delays and solutions

Marcé also admitted that there are delays in replacing damaged containers. The current cleaning system, which operates under a concession contract, is not designed to deal with such frequent and destructive incidents. This reality has left the neighbors with a sense of abandonment and insecurity.

The way to the solution

With an increase in surveillance and better coordination between the authorities, neighbors expect to find lasting solutions to prevent the containers from being vandalism. The community is determined to make their voice heard and to protect their environment.
