An event of collaboration and exchange of knowledge
A total of 101 healthcare professionals (medicine, nursing and administration) from the Primary Care services of the Santa Tecla Network have gathered this week at the Celler de Vila-seca to participate in the II Conference on clinical cases in Primary Care driven by the health and social organization.
The work session had the participation of professionals from the six Basic Health Areas (ABS) managed by the Santa Tecla Network (ABS Tarragona-Llevant, ABS Vendrell, ABS Arboç, ABS Vila-seca, ABS Calafell and ABS Torredembarra) and has served to share knowledge between the teams of the different centers through the pooling of a total of 12 clinical cases diagnosed and treated in the Family and Community Medicine services of the Santa Tecla Network throughout the last year. For the day, the Network’s Primary Care professionals presented a total of 49 clinical cases, of which the organization selected a dozen, which were finally presented in the Celler de dry village The cases presented were diverse and of great interest to the attendees (tuberculosis, LADA type diabetes, latent syphilis, recurrent urinary infections, syncope, nutrition, childhood obesity, etc.).
The importance of sharing knowledge and experiences
For Dr. Adelina Fallada, coordinator of the day, specialist in Family and Community Medicine and head of the Primary Care Medical Training commission of the Santa Tecla Network, the clinical case day “is a great tool for our professionals of community health, who are providing care from different centers, can share knowledge and experiences lived in their day-to-day life in outpatient clinics and clinics all over the territory. The meeting is a good way to build a team and to coordinate our services through the sharing of real cases, always with the aim of improving attention to the public”.
Recognition for the best works presented
The event ended with the awarding of prizes and recognition to the best presentations and with a fraternity lunch at the Celler de Vila-seca itself. The awarded works were:

Continuing with the training and exchange of knowledge
The Primary Care Medical Training Commission of the Santa Tecla Network is already starting to work on the preparation of the III Conference on Clinical Cases, which is held on a traveling basis in those municipalities where the organization provides healthcare services.
