Announcement of a new stage of renewal
The Mayor of Igualada, Marc Castells, has recently revealed, together with the Councilor for Economic Dynamization, Jordi Marcè, and the President of the Association of Entrepreneurs of the Comes Polygon, Joan Mateu, the launch of the fifth phase of modernization of this important industrial polygons.
Details of the Remodeling in progress
Currently in the process of bidding, this phase is planning to start in the fall and will focus on the transformation of the sections of the streets of Germany and Britain. The improvements include wider sidewalks, battery parking, new lighting and renovation of the pavement, maintaining the same style as the already remodeled areas.
A project with a future vision
Castells explained that this initiative is part of a larger project that began five years ago, with the aim of revitalizing the Les Comes polygon and adapting it to the needs of the 21st century. This modernization seeks to make the area more competitive and accessible.
Financial support and collaboration
The Diputació de Barcelona has provided a grant of 1.4 million euros for this improvement, within its plan for the modernization of polygons. In addition, the City Council and the AEPIC have contributed an additional 300,000 euros, all without imposing any special contribution to entrepreneurs, in line with the policies for the improvement of the City Council.

Joan Mateu, President of the AEPIC, expressed his thanks to the City Council for collaborative work in the planning and execution of this project, emphasizing the importance of listening to the needs of the entrepreneurs during the process.
Visible and well received changes
Matthew emphasized that the transformations in the polygon are evident and valued by companies, with improvements in the parking and sidewalks that facilitate the mobility and access of workers.
Improvements in infrastructure
With this new phase, the main roads of entry into the Comes polygon, which houses 400 companies and 4,000 employees, are expected to be modernized completely. Extensive sidewalks will improve traffic and entrances to companies, while the new LED lighting will provide a more sustainable and efficient solution, and the renewal of the asphalt will guarantee a more fluid and safe circulation.
