An event that marks a trend
From April 3 to 6, the city of Igualada is preparing to live its 36th sample, an emblematic event that brings together a wide variety of performing arts aimed at all audiences. With a total of 41 companies and 94 scheduled performances, this year’s sample is presented as a platform for creativity and innovation.
Official presentation with prominent personalities
Last Wednesday, the Ateneu Municipal Theater hosted the presentation of the exhibition, an event that had the participation of key figures such as the artistic director Ramon Giné, the Councilor for Culture Carme Riera and Romà Cano, representing the Territorial Services of the Generalitat.
A firm commitment to local culture
Riera emphasized the unconditional support of the City Council in the exhibition, emphasizing the positive impact it has on the local trade and the cultural life of Igualada. He mentioned that the event is not only a time of artistic celebration, but also an economic opportunity for the city.
The value of volunteers and cozy families
Both Riera and Giné agreed on the importance of the 50 volunteers who make the event possible and the families that host the companies, thus highlighting the fundamental role of the community in the development of the sample.
A festival that grows in quality and diversity
Ramon Giné expressed his satisfaction with the 937 applications received, the highest number so far, and explained that a balance between emerging and consolidated companies has been sought, as well as a varied range of genres that includes theater, dance, circus, music and much more.
The impact at national and international level
The exhibition not only attracts the attention of local professionals, but also calls for a large number of international professionals. About a thousand attendees are expected this year, with the presence of professionals from countries such as the United Kingdom, Denmark, and Chile.
A meeting place for professionals
La Llotja, located in the Museum of the Pell, will become the nerve point of the interactions between companies and programmers, with activities designed to foster collaboration and debate among professionals in the sector.
A varied and inclusive programming
The Igualada exhibition offers a range of shows that seeks the balance between different genres and formats. One of the prominent projects this year is a diverse show, which seeks to promote inclusion through art in collaboration with the Auria Center.
Innovation and community participation
The immersive and participatory shows are presented as a new dimension of the exhibition, with projects that go beyond the traditional scene, such as the Museum of Time, which invites the public to reflect on memory and identity through a collective ritual.
Access to art for everyone
Tickets for the sample can be purchased through its website, with affordable prices ranging from 6 to 10 euros, thus facilitating access to art to a wide and diverse audience.
Reflections on the future of the performing arts
With its commitment to quality, diversity and innovation, the Igualada show seeks not only to entertain, but also to enrich local and international culture, establishing itself as a benchmark in the world of performing arts.
