Renovation of the lighting: An expected project
The Manresa City Council has recently started the installation of a new lighting system on the Cal Taleca road, an action that goes back to a decision taken by the western district council more than a year ago. This improvement, which seeks to enrich the safety and quality of life of the residents, had been postponed since 2022, when the necessary investment was approved.
Mobilized neighbors: The voice of the community
A few months ago, the president of the neighborhood association, Maria Teresa Martínez, expressed the neighborhood’s concerns, which included the lack of adequate lighting. This complaint has been a key factor in speeding up the execution of a project that includes the installation of ten new lights, with an approximate cost of 26,465 euros.
District council decisions
The west district council not only approved the installation of the lighting, but also decided to allocate part of the budget to other small actions in the area, raising the total investment to 30,000 euros.
Impact of the works: Traffic and safety
The work to expand the lighting will last approximately three weeks, during which there will be occasional traffic interruptions on the Cal Taleca road. This intervention is essential to ensure that residents can enjoy a safer and well-lit space.
A brighter future for Torre Santa Caterina
With this new installation, the Santa Caterina Tower will not only improve its image, but will also become a more welcoming environment for residents and visitors. The City Council’s commitment to the community is reflected in this action, which it hopes will be only the first step towards a continuous improvement of the neighborhood.
