A space for cultural reflection
At a time marked by the increase in distrust between cultures, the Uncertain Festival emerges as a platform for international artistic dialogue and expression. This initiative presents a series of shows that explore the realities of three conflict regions: Palestine, Colombia and Kurdistan, making culture a means of fostering mutual understanding.
A diversified and decentralized programming
With the support of various institutions, the festival will take place in eleven cities in Catalonia, with a program that includes thirteen events and the participation of more than one hundred artists from multiple disciplines, such as music, theater, dance and cinema. In addition to Barcelona, places such as Manresa, Girona and Olot will be stage of this cultural exhibition that aims to bring art closer to various communities.
Opening with an international concert
The festival will begin on February 27 with a concert that will merge Palestine and Catalan music, presenting a unique collaboration between the Kamandjati Ensemble and other local artists. This cultural encounter symbolizes the link between two lands through musical language.
The role of the Catalan Association for Peace
The Catalan Association for Peace (ACP), with more than three decades of experience in humanitarian actions, leads this initiative with the aim of creating new connections between cultures that have experienced situations of violence. The festival seeks to raise awareness of the realities of Palestine, Colombia and Kurdistan, where violence has been a historical constant.
Resistance Voix: Palestine
Palestine, with more than seventy years of occupation and violation of rights, becomes a testament to the force of culture as resistance. Palestinian artists, despite the adversities, continue to express and keep their cultural identity alive, as Iyad Staiti, musician and director of the opening concert, emphasized.
Colombia: a country in search of peace
After decades of armed conflict, Colombia seeks to overcome the scars left by the war. The signing of the Peace Agreement in 2016 has opened a new chapter, where Colombian society is committed to transforming hate narratives into stories of reconciliation and hope.
Kurdistan: A Cultural Heritage in Perill
Kurdistan, a region with a rich cultural heritage, struggles for self -determination in a complex environment. Young artists in this region reinterpret their traditions, defending their identity in the face of cultural oppression and disappearance.
The Festival’s message: Culture and Peace
The Uncertain Festival is not only a space for artistic exhibition, but also a vehicle for fostering dialogue and understanding between peoples. His proposal invites to reflect on the capacity of the arts to unite and build bridges in a world that is often fragmented.
Future and commitment
With the aim of enduring over time, the festival seeks to claim the importance of culture as a universal language for peace. Its initiatives reflect a shared desire: to build a future where diversity is seen as a wealth and not as a threat.
