A Training Opportunity: Electronic Commerce

In a collaboration between the State Public Employment Service (SEPE) and the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, an initiative aimed at the unemployed over 45 has emerged. This proposal seeks to provide a comprehensive training opportunity focused on Electronic Commerce, with the aim of providing this segment of the population with the necessary skills for their reintegration into the workforce.

Course details

The course, part of the 45+ Program promoted by the Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for next May. It will last 6 weeks, from May 6 to June 17, 2024, and will be held face-to-face. During this period, participants will receive 150 hours of intensive training, with the aim of developing skills and knowledge relevant to the world of online commerce.

Contents and Objectives

Participants in this course will gain knowledge about developing strategies for e-commerce, using technology tools, as well as managing logistics and security in online transactions. The program also includes content related to project financing, activity as a web analyst and launching an online business. With this learning, participants will be able to improve their competitiveness in the labor market, update their CV and expand their network of contacts.

Who Can Participate?

The initiative is open to people aged between 45 and 60, regardless of their employment status. This includes unemployed workers, people with no history of Social Security contributions and those who pay their own contributions while unemployed. Also admitted are workers affected by Temporary Employment Regulation Files (ERTE) in force, as well as self-employed people with a recognized cessation of activity and farmers in periods of inactivity.

Main Objective: Labor Reinsertion

The main objective of this initiative is to provide workers over the age of 45 with the necessary tools for their reintegration into the labor market. Despite the tendency of companies to prefer hiring young staff, it is recognized that this group can increase their employment opportunities if they acquire experience and skills in the field of e-commerce.

A Commitment to Reintegration

The SEPE, through this initiative, reaffirms its commitment to labor reintegration, offering not only financial aid but also specialized training for those who seek to reintegrate into the world of work after the age of 45.
