A new horizon for health

The Primary Care Center (CAP) of l’Ametlla de Mar has begun a new stage with the inauguration of extensive facilities and a renewed management model. With an investment that amounts to almost 2.3 million euros, the extension of the healthcare complex adds 819 square meters to the community service.

An innovative model for primary care

In addition to the new facilities, the Primary Care Team of l’Ametlla de Mar and Perelló has been selected to implement the model of Reference Integral Health Centers (CSIR) in Terres de l’Ebre. This decision is part of a series of recommendations from the Committee on Evaluation, Innovation and Operational Reform of the Health System (CAIROS), which seeks to transform Primary Care into a more effective service and adjusted to the needs of patients.

A strategic extension

The extension of the head has been carried out on an adjacent plot, which now houses three annexed floors connected to the existing building. The news is the transfer of the outpatient rehabilitation service, managed by the public company Salut Terres de l’Ebre, which has already been launched.

Spaces Dedicated to Health

The new annex building includes a ground floor with independent access for the rehabilitation, which has two queries and a gymnastics room equated with multipurpose areas. The first two plants house eight multipurpose consultations, designed to adapt to the new primary care demands, including professionals specializing in emotional well-being, thus integrating mental health care within the primary service.

Toward a more efficient future

According to the Ministry of Health, these organizational adaptations aim to raise the efficiency and quality of the health service. Some of the initiatives to be implemented include the promotion of autonomy in staff management, the reduction of bureaucracy through digital tools, and the integration of health services with social, as well as a constant feedback system.

Temporary lines of implementation

The launch of the CSIR model is scheduled for the second quarter of 2025. One year later, an impact assessment will be made, with the aim of expanding this model to all primary care teams, thus adapting the healthcare system to the current needs of the population and guaranteeing a more accessible and efficient service.
