Mode of operation
The organization, led by a Dutch couple with a solid social position on the Costa del Sol, operated through an intricate network of companies created to hide their illegal activities and launder profits.
The members of the network acquired candy and snacks from various sources and contaminated them with cannabinoids in a clandestine laboratory installed in one of the rented properties.
To avoid detection, they used separate storage rooms and properties to store products and frequently changed vehicles and vacation rentals.
Investigation and Arrests
The investigation began after the arrest of an individual in Belgium with a shipment of synthetic cathinone. Agents traced the organization’s connections and discovered its wide reach.
In the first phase of the operation, three members of the organization were arrested and significant amounts of drugs, money and equipment for the manufacture of substances were seized.
The second phase focused on the main branch of the organization, leading to the arrest of four more members and the discovery of a company used as a front for drug trafficking.

The operation has resulted in the blocking of almost 620,000 euros in national accounts, the seizure of real estate properties valued at 1.5 million euros and the seizure of high-end vehicles.
