Tragic Event in Empordà
The Mossos d’Esquadra authorities are carrying out an investigation into a tragic incident that recently took place in the Empordà region. In this unfortunate event, a minor was found dead and his mother was seriously injured in a residence located in the municipality of Bellcaire d’Empordà, in the Baix Empordà region.
According to initial reports, emergency services received the alert after five in the morning on Wednesday. At this time, the efforts of the authorities are focused on the search for the child’s father, whose whereabouts are still unknown. Tragic Context in the Region
It is important to remember that at the beginning of January, the bodies of a man and his two children were discovered in a residence affected by a high concentration of gas in the Horta-Guinardó district of Barcelona. The investigators’ main hypothesis is that the father would have committed the crime and subsequently took his own life.
According to the authorities’ reports, the Barcelona Firefighters entered the house through a window and detected an odor similar to carbon monoxide. After entering, they found the three lifeless bodies. Units from the Emergency Medical Service, a team of psychologists and the Scientific Police also went to the scene, who examined the residence in search of evidence that could clarify the facts.
The Catalan police were activated after the children’s mother alerted authorities that her ex-husband had not returned the children to her after the Christmas holidays.
