A singular recognition in the Vallès Oriental
Jana Riera, a young promise from the Manolo Hugué de Caldes Institute, has been distinguished with the Extraordinary Baccalaureate Award, an honor that she has received only in the Vallès Oriental. This distinction, granted by the Department of Education and Vocational Training, recognized a total of 46 students among the 521 participants from all over Catalonia.
Academic excellence and challenging tests
With an impressive average grade of 10 in high school and 9.7 in selectivity, Jana has shown exceptional dedication and talent. To get the prize, he had to pass common tests on June 26 in Mataró, where he analyzed topics such as pornography and sustainability in Catalan and English, as well as solving a complex mathematical problem, obtaining 36 points out of 40.
An unexpected journey
Jana shares that she initially did not know the existence of this exam, and it was her tutor who motivated her to participate. “After doing the selectivity, I didn’t want to put it, but in the end I encouraged myself,” he confesses.
Awards that open new doors
In addition to honor, this award provides significant opportunities: a year of free university, a course at the Official Language School and an internship in a research center. Jana, who had already obtained honorary enrollment in Baccalaureate, has registered for internships in a laboratory, still in the process of selecting.
A bright future in biomedical science
At present, Jana Race Biomedical Sciences at the University of Barcelona, a decision he communicated during an interview to El 9 Nou last July. With a cut -off note of 13.78 on 14, he has embarked on an academic journey that fascinates it. “The first semester was more theoretical, but now we start with the practical part,” he emphasizes enthusiastically.
Professional roads to explore
With his professional future ahead, Jana considers two possible routes: to contribute to the search for new treatments or to work in hospital laboratories to analyze samples. ‘I still don’t know what option I will choose, it is soon to decide,’ he reflects.
The key to success: dedication and discipline
From a young age, Jana recognized his talent in mathematics, but it was not until he attended the teaching hall that he began to specify his academic interests. ‘The key to my success is perseverance, discipline and order,’ he concludes with admirable security.
