An event that will transform Osona
From May 8 to 18, the city of Vic will become the nucleus of jazz with the celebration of the Jazz Vic festival, which this year offers 18 performances with internationally renowned artists and emerging talents. With the incorporation of a new space, Casa Pratdesaba, the event promises to be a great attraction for music lovers.
Top -notch artists
Among the highlights of this year are the Israeli pianist Shai Maestro, who will present his solo debut album, and the innovative Cris Davis, who will perform in trio, paying tribute to women who have influenced their music career. Other performances include the collaboration of Americans Lopez/Rainey/Lubrock and emerging as Magalí Datzira.
Unique concerts and unpublished proposals
One of the most anticipated performances is the Brass Band insomnia, which fuses punk with Free Jazz, a concert that will be exclusive in Spain. In addition, Berke Can Özcan and Jonah Parzen-Johnson will inaugurate the Pratdesaba House with a performance in a natural atmosphere.
Commitment to innovation and creativity
The new board chaired by CAI Godayol has expressed its commitment to innovation in the festival program. Godayol emphasized that this is the most ambitious edition in years, with a approach to risky and creative proposals, including a special concert in honor of Agustí Fernández, a prominent figure in improvised music celebrating his 70 years.
New Jazz voices
The festival not only focuses on consecrated names, but also supports emerging artists such as Pau Jorba, who will present their new work, ‘Everything i’s Seen’, in collaboration with Faba Manresa. In addition, the Big Band of the Local Music School will close the event with a performance full of energy.
Access and community impact
With 61% of free proposals, the festival seeks to ensure that everyone can enjoy jazz music. Payment tickets are now available online, and the Councilor for Culture, Bet Piella, thanked the commitment of the new organization, with the aim of continuing to innovate and have a positive impact on the city.
