A Director of Reference
Since 2012, Josep Pons i Viladomat, born in Puig-reig in 1957, has held the position of musical director at the Gran Teatre del Liceu. His professional career is testimony to a passion for music that has marked his life, with more than forty productions directed, with a special focus on the masterpieces of the 19th and 20th centuries.
An Impressive Musical Legacy
Pons is recognized as honorary director of the National Orchestra and Choir of Spain and the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, with which he collaborated for years. In addition, he was one of the founders of the National Youth Orchestra of Catalonia and played a prominent role as executive musical director during the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games.
