A step forward in citizen participation

Last February, he marked a before and after in La Pobla de Mafumet with the launch of the participatory budgets, a pioneering project that seeks to actively involve citizens in decision -making on the municipal budget.

Innovative ideas for a better future

Neighbors have presented a total of 22 proposals, which cover various essential areas for community well -being, such as mobility, citizen security and the improvement of public infrastructure. The diversity of ideas reflects a collective desire to transform La Pobla into a more accessible and secure place.

The role of the technical commission

In this crucial phase, a technical commission, created specifically for this process, is responsible for examining each proposal in detail. This evaluation aims to ensure that ideas meet the criteria established, including a limit of € 50,000 per proposal and their relevance to the municipality.

Popular voting: an opportunity of influence

With the completion of the proposal study, the next phase will open the door to the popular vote, which will take place between May 1 and 25. All those registered over 16 will be able to express their preference for a maximum of three initiatives that have passed the technical filtration.

Voting modes

Citizens will be able to vote electronically through the Decidim platform or in person at a tent that will be placed in the gardens of the Pavilion during the Wine Fair, an event that promises a festive and participatory atmosphere.

A new course toward transparency

The commitment of the City of La Pobla to transparency is evident with this initiative. Mayor Joan Maria Sardà stated that “this is a unique opportunity to foster citizen participation and to strengthen the link between the administration and the neighbors.”

A promising future

With the participatory budgets, La Pobla de Mafumet begins a trip to a more open and inclusive government, where citizens are not only spectators, but also the protagonists of their own future. The implementation of the most voted proposals will mark a significant advance in community development.
