A new age for electric mobility in Lleida

From April 1, Lleida begins a new chapter in the management of its recharging infrastructure by electric vehicles with the entry into force of a regulation designed to optimize the use of this service. These regulations have recently been published in the Official Gazette of the Province, including a new fare structure that establishes a cost of € 0.35 per kWh of energy used.

Regulation and objectives of the new regulation

The main objective of this initiative is to ensure that charging places do not become permanent car parks. Councilor Cristina Morón emphasized that improper use of these areas was detected, where many vehicles occupied spaces for recharging without effective use of the service.

Specific parking conditions

The new charging places will be signaled exclusively for electric and hybrid vehicles that require connection. The parking will be restricted to the time needed to load, with highs that vary according to the power of the equipment: 45 minutes for loaders greater than 22KW, 90 minutes for those between 11kw and 22KW, and up to 6 hours for loaders of less than 11KW located in private car parks.

Sanctions and compliance control

The new regulation also includes sanction measures for those drivers who exceed the permitted time of parking or that park non -electric vehicles in charging areas. In cases of breach, vehicles may be removed and transferred to the municipal deposit.

Rates and comparison with the blue zone

The charging service has been designed to be similar to the one that is charged in the blue parking area, with an initial cost of € 0.35/kWh. If the maximum parking time is passed, a supplement of € 0.20 will be charged for each extra minute.

Strategic locations for Load

Currently, Lleida offers 64 charging points, including four public loaders to strategic places such as Magí Morera Street and the underground parking lot in Plaça Sant Joan. The City Council has collaborated with Electromaps to ensure that users can access updated information on the availability and status of the loaders.

A sustainable future for Lleida

With these new measures, Lleida seeks not only to promote the use of electric vehicles, but also to promote more sustainable and efficient mobility. The commitment to the environment is reflected in the effort to improve the infrastructure and regulate its use, in order to achieve a cleaner and accessible city.
