A new approach to local trade

The City Council of Lloret de Mar has launched an innovative initiative called Pla Lloret Acta, which seeks to transform public space into a more organized environment and promote responsible tourism. In recent months, trade surveillance has been intensified to combat unfair practices that affect consumers.

Control actions to ensure quality

The administrative police have been at the forefront of this effort, performing rigorous inspections to ensure that the products offered to customers comply with the current regulations on consumption. These actions, started a year ago, are based on protecting buyers’ rights and ensuring transparency in trade.

Inspections that reveal irregularities

During the last inspections, agents discovered a series of products, including t -shirts and caps of recognized brands such as Lacoste and Calvin Klein, which did not meet the labeling requirements established by the Consumer Code of Catalonia. In addition, many of these items did not have visible prices or the characteristics needed to ensure their quality.

Corrective actions and imposed sanctions

In response to these irregularities, the agents proceeded to lift acts and photographically document the products in question. As a result, sanctioning files that exceed 90,000 euros have been opened, and about 600 items have been involved, including clothing and accessories, to guarantee the protection of consumers.

Commitment to quality and service

The Mayor of Lloret, Adrià Lamelas, emphasized the importance of the work done by the administrative police and the legal services in the defense of consumer rights. He emphasized that these actions not only protect buyers, but also benefit the commercial establishments that work with dedication to offer a quality service.

A collective effort for a better future

The Lloret Plan Acta is a comprehensive initiative that seeks to restore social cohesion and improve relationships between the local community and tourists, fostering a more ethical and responsible trade. Through this plan, the City Council hopes to build a fairer and sustainable environment for all.
